Tertiary Filtration
Removal of fine particles from water that may affect discharge requirements or downstream reuse processes such as membrane separation. Filtration of produced water removes colloidal and larger particles fluid stream. Usually, suspended solids from less than 1 micron to 25 microns and larger are removed.
In 2003, customer installed filtration system used for water injection at the Dunga field Kazakhstan, operated by Maersk Oil Kazakhstan GmbH.
The 3,000 bbld filtration solution consists of a containerized module with the AMF 3 micron self-cleaning filters followed by 1 micron consumable filter cartridge.
The module is located onshore from where the filters water is injected in the Dunga oil field.
The AMF technology, used to replace sand filters and to reduce cartridge consumption, has been operating successfully for 5 years without any downtime or the need for maintenance.
The technology has been selected as an alternative to sand/multimedia filters, because of:
- Small footprint and low operating weight (less then 10% compared to media filters)
- Consistent water quality
- No need for chemicals to enhance water quality
- Low backwash volume (approximately 1% of total flow rate during cleaning cycle)
- Flexible control system to deal with varying water intake quality
- Virtually maintenance free.
Case Study
Enerscope Filtration Systems Used for Water Injection Dunga Field Kazakhstan.
In 2003, Enerscope Filtration Systems, via its Danish agent
Fagerberg, supplied a water filtration system used for water
injection at the Dunga field Kazakhstan, operated by Maersk Oil
Kazakstan GmbH.
The 20 m3/hr filtration solution consists of a containerized module
with the Enerscope 3 micron automatic self-cleaning filters
followed by 1 micron consumable filter cartridges.
The module is located onshore from where the filtered water is
injected in the Dunga oil field.
The Enerscope technology, used to replace sand filters and to
reduce cartridge consumption, has been operating for 4 years now without any downtime or the
need for maintenance.
The Enerscope technology has been selected as an alternative to sand/multi media filters,
because of :
- Small footprint and low operating weight
(less than 10% compared to media filters)
- Consistent water quality
- No need for chemicals to enhance water quality
- Low backwash volume (approx. 1% of total flow rate)
- Flexible control system to deal with varying water intake quality
- Virtually maintenance free.
Enerscope automatic self cleaning filters are used in the oil & gas industry for the following
applications:
* Produced Water treatment : |
Removal of solids before re-injection.
Protection of sensitive oil removal systems. |
|
* Seawater injection : |
Removal of solids and organics before injection.
Protection of injection pumps, media filters, cartridge
filters, sulphate removal membranes.
Permanent or temporary water injection systems. |
|
* Pipeline flooding : |
Removal of solids and organics during flooding. |
|
* Cooling & Utility Water : |
Various applications for cooling and utility water. |
